About

Who we are and how we write.

M and S Computers exists for one reason: most computer help is written for people who already know computers. We think that's backwards.

How we write

Every guide starts with the symptom you actually see — the error message, the behaviour, the thing that's broken — and ends with the fix, in the order you should try things.

We explain why a problem happens, because understanding the cause is what stops it coming back. We name the exact buttons and menus you'll see on screen, not the abstract names they have in the docs.

We don't sell you anything. There's no account, no newsletter gate, no 'premium unlock'. If a fix costs money we say so, and we usually show a free way first.

What we don't do

We're not a news site. We don't chase launches and price drops — that content is useless in three weeks. We write evergreen fixes for the problems people actually search for at 11pm, when the screen is dark and the laptop won't charge.

If something we've written is wrong, out of date, or missing a step, please tell us — it's the fastest way to make it better for the next person.
