Terms of Use

The short version: use the site, do no harm, take the fixes at your own risk.

Last updated: 22 September 2026.

These are the terms for using mandscomputers.com. By using the site you agree to them. They're written in plain English — if anything is unclear, ask us.

What the site is

M and S Computers is a free computer-help site: troubleshooting guides, error-code explanations, plain-English definitions, and small in-browser tools. It is a general-information resource, not a substitute for professional IT advice, and not a remote-support service.

Use at your own risk

This is the most important part. Computer fixes — even simple ones — can go wrong. A step that's safe on one machine can wipe data or break a system on another, depending on what's already there.

  • Back up before you change anything. Especially before a repair, an update, a reset, or anything involving storage. A backup is the single best protection we can point you to.
  • Read each step before you run it. We explain what destructive commands do, but you are responsible for the effect on your own machine.
  • We can't test on your hardware. Guides are written for common, typical setups. Yours may differ.

By following a guide you accept that the outcome is your responsibility. We're not liable for data loss, damage, or downtime that results from using (or not using) the site.

What we don't provide

  • We do not offer remote control, remote support, or account access.
  • We do not take responsibility for the content of third-party sites we link to.
  • We do not guarantee that a fix will work on your specific system, or that it's the best fix for you.

Acceptable use

Please use the site the way it's meant to be used. Don't:

  • scrape it in a way that overloads the server,
  • republish our content as your own,
  • try to disrupt the site or misuse the tools (the tools are local to your browser anyway),
  • use the site to facilitate anything you shouldn't be doing.

Intellectual property

The text, structure, and tools on this site are ours unless they're clearly attributed to someone else. You're welcome to read, use, and share a link to any page. If you want to reuse a substantial amount of the text, contact us first.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranty that it's error-free, complete, or up to date. We fix problems when we find them, but we can't promise we'll find every one before you do.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts there. (In practice, we'd rather resolve any issue by a quick email than a court case.)
