How to use this tool

This tool measures your ping — the time it takes a small packet to go from your computer to a server and back — using your own browser, over your real connection. It runs several samples and reports the fastest and the average, because a single reading is rarely representative.

What is a good ping?

  • Under 30 ms — excellent, great for video calls and online gaming.
  • 30–80 ms — good for most everyday use.
  • 80–150 ms — usable, but online gaming or video calls may feel laggy.
  • Over 150 ms — noticeably slow for anything interactive.

Why does it vary?

Ping is measured over your live connection, so it will change with Wi-Fi distance, congestion, and the server's own load. That's normal — one high reading means very little, which is why this tool takes a few samples.

Note: this measures the round-trip to this site's server over your connection, so it reflects your path and current conditions, not a guaranteed ISP figure.
